Central Park Tower is a new supertall residential tower in development
by Tishman Speyer Properties. I was a member of the
design team responsible for the exterior wall BIM model, the
analysis and diagramming of different panel types, and the
delivery of the comprehensive exterior wall bid set.
The main tower consists of four major curtain wall types. The
large scale of the project required extra attention to detail
documentation to ensure that extrusion, gasket, and glass
profiles were able to accomodate the technical and design
intent requirements of the project. Ultimately, the produced set
included over 260 pages of details. The 3D model was subdivided
into four major segements highlighting the divisions of
exterior vision, spandrel, operable, metal panel, and louver
conditions. Accurate quantity take-offs were eventually taken
from the final model to assist in bidding.
